Make use of Public Databases and don’t forget to share your success with others
Real Time PCR Primers and Probes Databases were created to serve the needs of researchers who are interested in both contributing to and taking advantage. If you want to avoid time-consuming primer design and experimental optimization, we recommend the use of such public databases. We strongly encourage researchers to submit their validated primer and probe sequences, to be shared with other users.
- PrimerBank is a public resource for PCR primers from Harvard Medical School. These primers are designed for gene expression detection or quantification (real-time PCR). PrimerBank contains about 180,000 primers covering most known human and mouse genes: PrimerBank .If you use a keyword (gene description), you have to use the full name (i.e. type glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase and not GAPDH).
